On this day in 1789, the Bill of Rights was approved by the first Congress of the United States and sent to the states for ratification. These first ten amendments lay out our individual freedoms — freedoms that so many have fought and died for. We take an oath, along with civilian office holders across the federal government, to support and defend the Constitution. So let’s never lose our focus as we serve this great nation and defend the principles of our Constitution.
